Giant Halibut Fish Restaurants For Sale in the UK
ARGYLE STREET - A giant Halibut fish sold in restaurants in the UK. This fish is a rare fish that weighs 70 kilograms (kg).
A restaurant in Argyle Street, Glasgow, UK provides a giant Halibut fish menu for 300 servings and sells for 1,000 pounds or approximately Rp15, 5 million (Rp15.525 per pound) for every single portion.
Halibut fish was caught off the coast of Shetland, Scotland, and the estimated size of the fish is about 50 years old.
This giant halibut will be served at the restaurant diners Crabshakk and may be enough for 300 people. The Crabshakk owner, John Macleod said that the giant fish will be cooked by the head chef, David Scott.
"I do not think any of us will see wild halibut the size of this, it will be in the fish fillets by David Scott," said Macleod. Similarly, quoted by the Daily Mail, Saturday (06/15/2013).
According to a spokesperson for the supplier, John Vallance to find Halibut weighing 70 pounds is very difficult and it is very rare, because usually normal size Halibut fish only 20-30 pounds.
Giant Halibut fishing has also been discovered in 2010, by a German veteran, Gunther Hansel, who found Halibut weighing 220 kilograms which sold for 2,500 pounds or approximately Rp38 million.
The other largest halibut caught in Norway in 2009 weighing 210 pounds. Atlantic halibut is one of the largest fish in the world and can grow up to 457cm long.
Halibut fish is listed as endangered because its population has decreased in recent decades.
