"We are targeting a number of visits was based on traffic levels to the region's tourist destinations in 2010 to reach 5,000 people," said the head of promotion and Marketing Department of culture and tourism of Papua Province Nela Yembise on the sidelines of the opening of tourist promotion of Papua, in Kuta, Bali, on Friday.

Nela admitted traffic levels did not increase significantly because of the constrained transportation that is difficult to reach the tourist sites in the provinces of Papua and West Papua.

"The cost of travel becomes more expensive because of the difficulty of transport so as to be considered tourists and foreign tourists visiting Indonesia Province of Papua and West Papua," he said.

While the province of West Papua target rate reaches 4,000 tourists visit thousands of travelers this year, or increased 100 percent from the number of achievements 2010 2,000 people.

Meanwhile, members of the DPRD Raja Ampat Yos Awom said optimistic target tourists visit that much this 

year can be achieved with the support of all parties.

"To increase it, allocated funds for the promotion of Rp16 billion. We hope the promotional funds that could be used as best as possible to increase tourist visits, "he said.
