Reported by the Daily Mail, Friday (05/10/2013), some people who had witnessed the rare sight will assume as a UFO sighting. However, apparently the green fireball they saw a meteor coming one of the dust trail left by Halley's Comet.
A spatial British scientist, Dr. Maggie Aderin Pocock declared the meteor has a size no bigger than a fist. "Green or blue fire emitted by the meteor showed a copper content," he explained.
Meteor was first seen in the south east of England then gradually leads to the north west. The rate of meteors reaches speeds up to approximately 150 thousand mph (meters per hour).
Fireball will be one of the many shooting stars across the night sky. This event will occur twice each year.
Pocock also added that this meteor streaking across the sky will still be up to 20 May. However, its intensity decreases and will only be visible when the night sky in sunny conditions.
