CALIFORNIA astronomers said that Halley's Comet was visible in the early morning hours of Sunday (5/5/2013). Halley's comet has entered the solar system in 1986, then will reappear in 2061.
Reported
by Foxnews, Monday (6/5/2013), early Sunday and before dawn,
astronomers had the opportunity to see the most famous Comet, Halley in
the sky. Halley's comet has ever moved into the solar system in 1986, reappears in the summer of 2061.
Whenever such appearance Halley's Comet is always seen a trail of dust. Dust trail named "cosmic litter" was reportedly able to raise two phenomena meteor shower on Earth each year.
One of the meteor shower called the Eta Aquarid, which appears each year in early May. Meteor shower occurred because the orbit of Halley's Comet is in the position of near Earth orbit.
In addition to the Eta Aquarid, Halley's Comet can also bring up the Orionid meteor shower occurs around mid-October. Differences in the position of Halley's Comet during its approach to Earth it is able to produce a meteor shower with time.
The Eta Aquarid meteor shower can be seen in the sky dark and bright. Based on the observations of astronomers, some 55 to 60 flashes of meteors will be visible for an hour.
The spectacular views of the object also affects the sky. Reportedly, the territory of Australia is the most appropriate to be able to watch the meteor shower.
Halley's Comet is a comet that is visible from Earth every 75-76 years. Officially named the 1 p/Halley, the name commonly given by Edmund Halley. This comet is the most famous among the Comet Comet-periodic comet. Although
the each century many comets berperiode comes with a long lighter and
terrible, Halley's Comet is the only one with a short period looks to
the naked eye, and hence is a comet that looks to the naked eye are
definitely back in the span of a human life. Its
appearance throughout history has a great influence on human history,
although its exact appearance will not recognized as the same object
until the 17th century. And new evidence suggests
that the events of the sky that has been witnessed by the ancient
Greece, probably the early appearance of Halley's Comet.[3]
Described a giant meteor has hit Greece between 466 BC and 479 BC,
Halley's Comet is visible for nearly 80 days in 466 BC, the researchers
wrote in the journal of cosmology.[3] according
to the New Scientist report, up to now, the Comet visibility is the
initial orbit in 240 BC, an event recorded by Chinese astronomers of
antiquity.[3] Halley's Comet last appeared in the solar system in 1986, and will appear again in mid-2061.
Edmond Halley
Edmond
Halley (born in Haggerston, Shoreditch, 8 November 1656 – 14 January
1742 Greenwich at the age of 85) was an astronomer, Geophysicist,
meteorologist, physicist, and mathematician of the United Kingdom.
Halley
is known for having predicted the arrival of a comet that will come
once every 76 years old, and the Comet is named after him. In
the analysis of numbers, Halley found a method that is used for the
functions of a real variable with the 2nd derivative is continuous. A crater on the Moon is named after him. Halley's Comet is the inventor of the first time.
