Tardigrade is a microscopic organism, we need a microscope to be able to see it, which was great. This creature was originally the organisms that live in fresh water, but now they have adapted to live in various places, including land and sea, and we can find them all over the world ranging from the north pole to the south pole. Additionally organisms, known as the water bear, because its shape is like a glimpse of a bear, it turned out to be the only living organism that can live in outer space.
In 2007, an experiment called Project Biokis funded by the Italian Space Agency conduct a series of experiments to determine the effect of space on microorganisms molecular basis. They want to investigate how cells react to extraordinary dehydration caused by vacaum and radiation in space. Based on this study water bear managed to be the only microorganism that can survive in outer space.
According to experts, the microorganisms that size is not more than 1mm is able to survive because of its ability to carry out the deadly cryptobiosis all their bodily functions, except for essential functions, when they are in areas that do not allow them to live. They will back off and live if the surrounding circumstances to sustain their lives. Unfortunately though on earth organism is able to survive in these conditions for several months or even years, it turns out these creatures can only last for 10 days only to extreme conditions of outer space.
Microorganisms is even listed as the most difficult to kill living beings in this world. He was able to survive in cold conditions (up to -273 Celsius) or heat. They are even expected to survive the radiation from a nuclear bomb explosion. Besides this being recorded is also able to withstand liquid nitrogen. The only way to kill the currently known may just leave it alone in space.
